Meet Bampton Library’s Story Teller in Residence Lucy Walters

Lucy is a storyteller, writer, and performer, creating and presenting storytelling shows for children. Her work spans fictional and factual storytelling, presenting educational content in a storytelling format. She has performed at literary festivals, museums, and other live events across the UK in addition to writing and presenting content on-screen.

Credits include Spot’s 40th Anniversary Storytime & Playtime for Puffin Books; Imagine a Story for Historic Royal Palaces and Post a Story for the 7oth anniversary of the Cheltenham Literature Festival. Lucy has also written and presented The Unexpected Journey of Chocolate for the Roald Dahl Museum – a factual look at the gift of chocolate through history.

Other work includes writing and touring an Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland Learning through Stories exhibition for The Story Museum, presenting The Very Hungry Caterpillar Storytime & Craft-Along for the Puffin Festival of Big Dreams, and voicing stories and soundscapes for a Whispering Woods Gallery exhibition. As a voice actor, Lucy’s experience spans animation and narration.

In collaboration with MagicaMedia, Lucy has written and presented her first pre-school storytelling series for children’s television using the tradition of telling a story aloud to support language development, communication, and play.

Aside from live events and on camera work, Lucy visits schools devising and delivering story and character development workshops to inspire children to create and tell their own stories.

Lucy is represented for voice work by Carey Dodd Associates, school visits by Authors Aloud, and is a member of Equity and Spotlight for her acting work.
