ARE YOU READY FOR DIGITAL SWITCHOVER? DISCOVER MORE AT BAMPTON LIBRARY

Neighbourhood watch are currently organising a series of small drop in events across the country to speak to people about the digital voice rollout process that is happening over the next couple of years. There is a lot of negative press at the moment about how people will be impacted and many people, especially the elderly and vulnerable are justifiably concerned. We are holding a drop in session at Bampton Library on Monday 31st March 2.00pm – 5.00pm.

There will be an opportunity for people to ask questions and for us to explain what help and assistance is out there. The primarily concern that most people have is that in the event of a power cut, the digital voice phone line will stop working. For the majority of people, they will just use their mobile so it’s not a huge problem. However, there are some elderly and vulnerable people that may not have a mobile and we want to reassure them that there are plenty of options out there to support them.

There will be three Neighbourhood watch volunteers in attendance who will have some leaflets to hand out. It’s very informalsessions and the public can come along and find a bit more about what is happening.
