‘Celebrations and Jubilations’ Exhibition

Looking ahead to 2023, we are very excited to announce our ‘Celebrations and Jubilations’ Exhibition, which opens on January 10th and runs until February 4th 2023.

Celebrating 50 years since its founding in 1973, by John Birkhead an art teacher at Radley College and his wife Margaret Ralston. West Ox Arts is launching its 2023 exhibitions programme, with a community exhibition, in association with Bampton Primary School, inspired by the Bampton traditions of morris dancing and the annual Shirt Race.

A textiles project, linked to the school curriculum and designed to develop a sense of belonging and positivity was created by Kay Adamson.  All the children took part in school based workshops creating textile art on shirts collected by the Bampton Community shop with fellow members of WOA, Christine Payne and Marjolein Twewavas.

Plain white shirts transformed with fabric paint and printing techniques by the children will be displayed alongside the artwork of WOA’s most recent members, as well as those who have had a long association with the organisation, celebrating WOA’s past, present and future.
