We can now confirm that our official road closure request for the Shirt Race on Saturday 24 May has been approved.

While we thoroughly appreciate the continued offers of support received from the village and surrounding areas, and welcome the new volunteers who have recently made contact with us, we will need more volunteers to enable us to deliver another exceptional Bampton event.

As an idea of the support required, outside of the “standard” setting-up, marshalling and end of day and early Sunday clear away, we are looking to bolster the PA-system delivery and individuals to run the highly important BBQ. The event is run free of charge, so this provides a massively important income source to subsidise the day.

Further updates on the roles and what will be required on the 24 and 25 May will follow, so please look out for future communications, including a full volunteer and Marshall briefing prior to the event day.
